The fruit for this wine was grown at Aussie Vineyard's very own stunning Henty Estate located at Ballandean in the Granite Belt in Queensland. Harvest was during late March 2002, where the fruit was picked by both hand and machine.
This tantalizing merlot is a sensational deep purple-red creation, flaunting blackberry and plum with lightly toasted oak on the nose. New and used French oak barriques were used for the wine to mature into a full bodied palate, with tones of berry fruit leading into plum and subtle oak. The finish is long and lingering with integrated fine tannins. Goes well with grilled meats & dark meat fish, Bolognese & Napoli dishes served with romano or parmesan cheese.
